Challenges in the waterway

Use this form if you represent an interest organisation or a public body and want to report a need related to a problem in the waterway. The problem must affect safe, efficient and environmentally friendly traffic in the waterway and into publicly accessible ports.

This is not an application, but a way to put forward a wish. If the input is good, the Norwegian Coastal Administration will consider carrying out a socio-economic analysis and looking at possible solutions. Larger measures may need to be prioritised in the National Transport Plan before they can be carried out.

Before you start

• You do not need to log in.
• The form is only available in Norwegian (Bokmål and Nynorsk). With English selected, you can read the introduction, but you must switch to Norwegian in the language menu to fill in the form. Below, each field is given with its Norwegian label, followed by an English translation.
• Input can be submitted by interest organisations, such as Norges Kystfiskarlag, Norges Fiskarlag, Fiskebåt, Norges Rederiforbund and Kongelig Norsk Båtforbund, and by public organisations, such as port authorities, municipalities and county authorities. You must give the organisation number of the organisation you are reporting for.
• If your report is about faults on sea marks or other hazards to safe navigation or traffic, do not use this form. Send a navigational warning instead.
• Do not submit sensitive information or documents exempt from public disclosure here. Use eDialog instead.

What we ask for

All fields must be filled in, except those marked optional (valgfritt) in the form.

1. Kontaktinformasjon (Contact information)

• Fullt navn (Full name, required): The name of the contact person.
• E-post (Email, required): We send the receipt, with a copy of your input, to this address.
• Telefon (Phone, required): A Norwegian eight-digit number, or a foreign number starting with its country code, for example +46.
• Org. nr. (Organisation number, required): The nine-digit organisation number. Navn/foretaksnavn (Name/company name) is filled in automatically from the organisation number.
• Land, Adresse, Postnummer and Poststed (Country, address, postcode and town, required): For a Norwegian address, the town is filled in automatically from the postcode. If you choose a country other than Norway, you enter the town yourself and the postcode is optional.

2. Informasjon om utbedring (Information about the improvement)

• Kort beskrivelse av problemet (Short description of the problem, required): Describe the problem in the waterway as clearly as possible. What is the challenge, and how does it affect safety, accessibility or other conditions? Avoid suggesting solutions. Up to 2000 characters.
• Hvem har behov for å få løst problemet? (Who needs the problem solved?, required): For example cargo vessels, ferries or high-speed craft. Up to 2000 characters.
• Beskriv nytteverdien av ønsket farvannsutbedring (Describe the benefit of the improvement, required): For example time and cost savings, lower greenhouse gas emissions or reduced risk of accidents in the waterway. Up to 2000 characters.
• Vedlegg (Attachments, optional): Your own attachments describing the problem in more detail. PDF, JPEG or PNG, up to 10 MB per file.
• Stedsangivelse (Location, required): Mark on the map where the improvement is needed, with a point, line or polygon. You must add at least one marking. Each marking gets a number and a text field below the map, where you must enter a name for the marking.

3. Se gjennom (Review)

You check your information before submitting. After submitting, you receive a receipt with a copy of your input at the email address you gave.
